1. Albums and Favorites — the lightest option
Everything happens inside Photos. Make a “Receipts” album, move things in, done. Nothing to install, nothing to learn.
The limits are real. An album name is a category you guessed in advance, and the word you search for later is rarely that name. Worse, every capture now requires a filing decision, which is the first thing to collapse as volume grows.
2. Copying into Notes — search opens up
Copy the text, paste it into a note, drop the screenshot in beside it. From that moment the content is searchable. It is the honest middle ground between albums and automation.
The cost is that a person has to do it every time. In practice the habit lasts two to four weeks — and what you already moved stays useful, so it is not wasted.
3. An organizer app — moving the judgment into the tool
Reading, grouping and making things findable happen automatically; what is left for you is review and the decision to delete. Judge candidates on the three questions above: on-device or uploaded, source preserved or not, exportable or locked in.
Check automatic deletion specifically. Screenshots contain moments you cannot recapture, so deletion should only ever happen to images a human picked.
